About the Role
The Business Development Operations Specialist serves as a critical support function for our Business Development (BD) department. Working collaboratively with key leaders, the BD Operations Specialist will support multi-disciplinary deliverables such as commission plan development and execution, new hire onboarding, department training, and internal presentation development. This role is a great opportunity to learn hands-on about business development operations from functional leaders in a growing business in an exciting, fast-paced industry.
Commissions Development and Reporting - 40%:
Create, communicate, and report on commission plans and performance
Develop and communicate quarterly commissions statements for BD team members
Track and report on commissions performance for BD team members
Learn the behind-the-scenes commission calculations and queries and apply that knowledge to determine reasons for any resulting errors
Research and calculate commission adjustments and resolve any issues in a timely manner
Obtain management approvals for any commission exceptions and adjustments
Onboarding New Hires & Ongoing Training - 40%:
Organize and facilitate our department’s onboarding for new hires and continual learning training sessions
Schedule onboarding training sessions for new hires on the company, our products, and functional job skills
Coordinate ongoing department training including monthly series and new product launches
Ensure new hires have access to the necessary tools and software
Record and archive training sessions for future use
Identify opportunities to improve our training curriculum, including the creation of online modules
Department Support - 20%:
Keep the department running smoothly with initiatives and administrative tasks
Partner with BD leaders to create presentations
Collaborate with BD leaders to develop and run team events and incentives
Schedule, run, and troubleshoot department events
Complete other administrative duties and special projects
A 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities
Discretion when handling sensitive material and communications
1-2 years experience in internal or external customer service
Experience in coaching or training others
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Suite applications
Experience in a B2B/SaaS environment
Experience using Salesforce.com
